Bodleian MS Shelley e.1
Bodleian Manuscripts Shelley MS e.1 was one of several notebooks that the Shelleys purchased in or near Leghorn (Livorno), Italy sometime between early May 1818 and early September 1819. It contains forty-six leaves, with fair-copy holographs for Prometheus Unbound I.1-498, Act IV, and the first half of the Preface, as well as a holograph draft of approximately the first half of Shelley’s translation of Plato’s Ion.
For more detailed information about the bibliographical details of the e.1 Notebook, including provenance, paper, and watermarks, as well as the contents of each page, see Neil Fraistat’s discussion from pp. xvii-xxx of The Prometheus Unbound Notebooks.
